AJO COPPER NEWS, page 2 Well, the British Em- pire, what's left of it, and the rest of the English speaking world can relax now. The royal baby has been born, and he's a boy as ad- vertised. He'll never go hungry, he'll never have to wonder where his next pair of shoes is coming from, and he'll never be able to get out of his padded cocoon for more than a few hours at a time. He'll spend his life being looked at. Most likely he'll be given five or six names, chosen from the old royal stan- dards George, Albert, Ed- ward, Philip, Charles, Henry, David, maybe even Andrew. Certainly nothing fancy like Montmorency. His chief job -- and he'll start it early -- is simply to be royal. Some day, if everything goes well, he'll be King and open parliament, be present at the laying of cornerstones for government buildings, and display himself Quacks by Aaa David wherever people of British blood congregate in sig- qnificant numbers. Thai won't be for a whlqe, though. His grandmother Queen Elizabeth is hale and hearty, and may last another thirty years. When she is gone, his t'alher Prin- ce Charles will be king, and he looks pretty durable too. As soon as he's old enough-/he young man will tike over minor ceremonies, gradually working up to the really tough ones. Maybe then his father will repeat to him the prac- tical instructions of George V to his elder son, the traditiqn breaking Edward VIII, then Prince of Wales: "Never stand when you can sit, never shake hands when you can avoid it, and NEVER miss a chance to empty your bladder."
